An Outdoor Program

Gardening

Gardening in our Montessori program is a wonderful way for children to connect with nature and nurture living things.

While they work in harmony with the forces of nature, they learn about parts of seeds, flowers and the cycle of plants and life on Earth.

Children love to dig in the dirt and have great fun working cooperatively together. They get great exercise while doing so too.

Outdoor work is a natural extension of our indoor program where Sensorial and Practical Life skills are considered fundamental activities.

Gardening address the specific developmental needs of our students—gross and fine motor skills, creative expression and language development, to name a few.

Outdoor program

Furthermore, to complement their gardening work, children will participate in our special Outdoor Program every other week. This is an opportunity for students to explore the woods around school, playing cooperative games and immersing themselves in the natural world.
